NEW REPORT: Creating Opportunity and Building Wealth in Rural America – House Budget Committee
Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Budget Committee released a new report outlining major investments in rural communities made by the Biden Administration and Congressional Democrats. With the American Rescue Plan, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022, Democrats are addressing longstanding challenges facing rural communities, including a shortage of health care services, limited public transportation, a lack of affordable internet options, inadequate weatherization and climate resilience, and unreliable energy infrastructure.
“Congressional Democrats and the Biden Administration are committed to ensuring that rural Americans have the opportunity to succeed in rural America,” said Chairman Yarmuth. “These investments will help to reverse years of underinvestment in the communities that fuel our economy and feed the nation and the world. Under Democrats’ leadership, the investments made in the American Rescue Plan, Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and the 2022 appropriations act have already made transformative investments in rural America that will continue to benefit these families and communities for generations to come.”
