Introducing Joseph Drugan: Hub South West Scotland’s Champion for Community Wealth Building

Hub South West Scotland is pleased to announce that Joseph Drugan has been appointed its new Community Wealth Building and Social Value Manager. Bringing with him a wealth of experience within corporate social responsibility, Joseph looks set to further Hub South West Scotland’s efforts in creating high-value jobs for local people andcirculating project spend in the regional economy.

Michael Ross, Chief Executive of Hub South West Scotland, said: “Our mission is to provide meaningful social value and community benefits from the public sector projects we deliver across the south west region. Joseph will now join our existing social value team and significantly contribute to this goal.”

Joseph’s Role in Community Wealth Building

Joseph’s primary role is to review the total social value and community benefits that result from Hub South West Scotland’s projects within its key regions. His role also involves driving skills and employment opportunities to nearby communities with a focus on sustaining long term positive effects.
Joseph commented on his appointment: “I’m incredibly excited to join the team and contribute to the positive social and economic impact that we create through our projects. My mission is to work alongside Hub South West Scotland’s partners, local authorities and the Scottish Government to drive meaningful, sustainable growth and build strong, prosperous communities.”

A Professional with a Passion

Joseph has a wealth of experience in this area, having previously been the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Raytheon UK, as well as a Social Impact Advisor at Balfour Beatty. Joseph is also a passionate advocate for STEM education, having volunteered as a mentor with both the Engineering Development Trust’s Industrial Cadet program and Class of Your Own’s ‘Design, Engineer, Construct’ teaching resource.
